2009 SEASON IN REVIEW: Dabo Swinney made a pretty good impression in his first
full season at the helm at Clemson, as the Tigers posted nine victories,
captured the Atlantic Division crown and topped Kentucky in the Music City
Bowl. The team's success, especially on the offensive side of the football,
was due in large part to the explosive play of All-American C.J. Spiller, who
was as dangerous with the ball in his hands as any player in the country.

It took a little while for Clemson to find its groove in 2009, as the team
dropped three of its first five games, putting itself in an early hole in-
conference (1-2) early in October. However, the Tigers would rally with six
straight victories to capture the Atlantic Division crown. However, a regular-
season finale loss at rival South Carolina (34-17), was followed by a
memorable 39-34 setback to Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game. Once
again however, Clemson would bounce back, with a 21-13 win over the Wildcats
in the Music City Bowl.
