=== Blackhawks promote Bowman === Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday promoted Stan Bowman from general manager to vice president/general manager amidst a host of front office moves. Bowman, 37, son of legendary head coach Scotty Bowman, became the youngest general manager in NHL history to preside over a Stanley Cup winner when the Blackhawks downed the Flyers in a six-game triumph this past June. With the effort, the Blackhawks ended an NHL-longest 49-year title drought. Having joined the franchise in 2001 as a special assistant to the general manager, Bowman spent four years in the position before rising to director of hockey operations in 2005. In 2007, he was again promoted, this time to assistant general manager of hockey operations. Bowman then assumed the mantle of general manager in July 2009 when Dale Tallon stepped down.
